Bright Master Bedroom

This master bedroom project in Elkins Park, PA was designed to feel light and bright as well as calming and comfortable. The focal point of the space is the modern sleigh bed and a peaceful large-scale photograph to add to the serenity of the room. This master bedroom showcases a fresh and pleasing color palette with crisp white walls, touches of grey, muted blue and blush tones with textural elements such as soft Belgian linen, cozy baby alpaca and vintage rugs and pillows. With a nod to Mid-Century modern lines and juxtaposed with the original character of the home, this room feel fresh and modern, with a soft eclectic feel.

The original bedroom was filled with old, mismatched and dated furniture and lacked a real cohesive design. During the design phase we focused on creating a soft and neutral color palette to allow light to flood in from the many windows and to keep the space feeling serene and restful. The large vintage style rug, anchors the room with soft blues and blush tones that were also pulled through on the textiles, artwork and furnishings. The rug design ties in with the beautiful old original radiators from this 1920’s home and window treatments were kept simple to allow the hardwood floors and architectural charm to really shine. The result is a master bedroom that is fresh and cohesive and serves as the perfect place to wind down at the end of a long day.
